Specialist member application
In order to become an individual Specialist member member of the ESE, you need to provide documentation that you have certain skills/knowledge and/or training in Endodontology.
Route 1
For graduates of ESE-accredited 3-year full time equivalent specialist training programmes in Endodontology
Route 2
For the grand-parenting of existing specialists in countries where Endodontics is recognised nationally as a speciality and that have national endodontic/dental societies affiliated with the ESE. That is: Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom; (not applicable for Guest)
Route 3
For the grand-parenting of existing de facto specialists (but without formal national recognition) owing to their prior knowledge, exceptional skills, reputation, experience and contribution to the specialty (over an extended period), but who may not have undertaken formal, structured Endodontic training at specialist level.
Route 4
Mediated entry - where non-ESE-accredited training is considered equivalent to ESE-accredited specialist training. Individuals who have completed training in Endodontology through, as yet, non-ESE accredited programmes who are not recognised as Specialists by their national government/competent authority. Applicants need to submit evidence of equivalent specialist training, knowledge and skills.
Route 5
Mediated entry - no formal recognition as a specialist in Endodontology but can demonstrate evidence of a major contribution to Endodontology through education and research. Individuals who have not acquired any or sufficient formalised clinical training for specialist status or do not have national recognition of such an achievement but may have acquired exceptional scholarship through their long-term involvement in educational and/or research programmes.
Further application information
The applications will be assessed by the ESE Membership Committee. Those individuals accepted as having fulfilled the requirements of a specialist member will be recommended to the Executive Board for entry on to the Specialist Member list. The decision by the Executive Board will be final and non-appealable.

The application fee for ESE Certified Members is 0 Euros
The application fee for Ordinary Members is 250 Euros
Membership fees
Membership runs from the 1st January to 31st December each year. The Specialist membership fee is €215 per year. Payment includes subscription to the online International Endodontic Journal. To include a subscription to the printed version there is an extra cost of 105 euros.
