The ESE observes the escalating conflict in Ukraine with growing concern. While we remain an apolitical, neutral organisation representing healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, students and members of the public across Europe and beyond, we abhor and condemn the use of violence and see no place for it in settling disputes of any kind in a civilised society. 

We ask all ESE members to consider lobbying their respective politicians and contributing to organisations providing humanitarian support in the region. We also call on ESE members to offer all of the support they are able to those affected by this conflict, acknowledging that many on both sides are vehemently opposed to violence and bloodshed, and that many will be making a costly and courageous stance in opposition to hostilities.
