It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the loss of our cherished colleague and friend Michiel de Cleen. A dazzling human being and professional role model. We are devastated by this sudden and unexpected news.

On behalf of the ESE Executive Board, General Assembly and Membership, we extend our heart-felt sorrow and condolences to his family and loved ones, in particular,

his partner, Fieke de Beukelaer 

his stepdaughter Josephine

his parents. Henk and Connie de Cleen 

his siblings, Steven and Claudie 

his sister and brother-in-law Anita and Peter

 and the de Beukelaer family

his uncle Noortje, Job and Piet and all of his very many friends.

 

He was a light in all of our lives.

 

Michiel will be commemorated and taken away on December 14th during a private gathering.
